The Patriots are coming off a big win in San Francisco, while the Chargers are coming off a stunning loss to Miami (we know a little now about stunning losses to Miami, too!). This West Coast swing can be good for the Pats if they can stuff San Diego on their home turf, but it will NOT be easy. Come join us at Luna Loca in Danville for some Mexican cuisine (free fresh chips and salsa), cold beer (the Dos Equis on draft is excellent!) and margaritas, and the Patriots. Please RSVP so I can reserve enough spots in the bar area; Luna Loca is not a big restaurant. It is located right off the Sycamore Valley Rd. exit off I-680. Head towards Danville center and at first set of lights enter The Livery. Luna Loca is located in The Livery.

Calling all Boston sports fans! At this week's meetup we'll be joined by the East Bay Red Sox club (Organizer is Barry Sullivan, also a member of our Pats group). We'll have the private room at The Tower Grille. FREE breakfast buffet from 9:30 to 11AM (last week it was eggs, bacon, potatos, ziti, and fresh fruit!). The Patriots vs. Dolphins will be on the wide-screen, and at the same time the Sox/Blue Jays game on the smaller TV. Both games start at 10AM so this will be a twin-bill! What could be better than a Sunday morning rooting on the hometown teams? The Patriots are in first place in the AFC East, and the Sox are fighting tooth and nail for the AL East division title. Come out and root on the hometown teams with other Boston sports fans at The Tower Grille in Danville!

It's official: Brady is out for the season with his knee injury. So the Patriots will have to find a way to make it to the Super Bowl without the reigning NFL MVP. We were hoping this week it would be Brady vs. Broadway Brett. Now it appears that Matt Cassel will have to step up and perform again this week against the Jets. Let's plan this next Meetup at The Tower Grille in Danville again. The power outage was a fluke last week! It was great to meet so many new members of the group. Looking forward to seeing you all again for the Patriots-Jets clash! Please RSVP if you plan to come so I can get an accurate headcount.

Welcome all East Bay Patriots fanatics! This email is an invite to the season opener Meetup. We'll be meeting at the Tower Grille in Danville, right in the center of town, 1/2 mile from the Diablo Road exit off of I-680. They open at 9:30AM, have a FREE breakfast buffet, FREE wireless internet (for those with Fantasy teams), plus a full bar. And plenty of free parking all over the downtown area. I checked out the Tower Grille last week (thanks to Steve and Liz for the recommendation!). The inside looked really clean and comfortable. Nice decor. And they have a private function room to accomodate between 20-50 people (so we're set if we start getting some BIG turnouts). PLEASE RSVP if you plan to attend so I can book some tables together so we can sit as a group! There are lots of members who live 45 minutes to an hour away (some of you live in the South Bay and SF). Why not make a day of it? Come to the Tower Grille for 9:30AM breakfast, join us for the game, and then spend the afternoon taking in some of the local sites? Take a leisurely stroll through Danville's downtown area (http://www.discover danvilleca.com/downt own_map.php); visit a winery in Livermore Valley (http://www.lvwine.o rg/); go for a hike (plenty of trails in Danville for a 1-2 hour hike to walk off your brunch); drive to the summit of Mt. Diablo and take in the panoramic views of Northern CA: http://www.parks.ca. gov/?page_id=517 (entrance to park is only 3 miles from downtown Danville); or bring your bikes and go for a bike ride on the Iron Horse Trail (goes right through the center of Danville: http://www.ebparks.o rg/parks/trails/iron _horse). There are LOTS of new members who have joined the group since the Super Bowl (50+ people now in the Meetup group overall), so looking forward to getting strong turnouts for the '08 season. Again, PLEASE RSVP for this event so we can reserve tables and seats for everyone. -Mike

It's going to be COLD in Foxborough as the Patriots take on the red-hot Chargers. This is not the same team we beat back in September BUT will Tomlinson and Rivers (and Antonio Gates, too) be healthy enough to make an impact? No one has been able to stop Tom Brady yet, and I don't think the Chargers will either. Join us at Crogan's for all the action (enter main entrance, go left into the large function room. We'll be watching on the wide-screen.)

After jumping out to a 28-0 lead the Patriots mailed it in for the 2nd half. But we move on to the last game still undefeated, with only the Giants standing in our way of a perfect regular season. The Giants qualified for the playoffs today so perhaps don't have much to be motivated for next week.
