About The East Bay New England Patriots Meetup Group

This group was formed in September 2007 on the eve of the Patriots first game vs. the NY Jets. My wife Julie and I moved to Danville with our children in August 2007 and we missed the local NE sports scene. The Patriots, Red Sox, and BC football are what I followed growing up. We were surprised to see there was no meetup group in the East Bay for the Pats, and we didn't feel like going to SF every week to meet people and watch the games. So I decided to start this group instead! We started out getting together at a dive in Walnut Creek (2007 season) but then were tipped off to the Tower Grille, a hidden gem in downtown Danville. It was our home base for the entire 2008 season, and will be for 2009 as well. Looking forward to meeting other ex-New Englanders who are passionate about the Pats!
